Yesterday we took Eli to "A day out with Thomas." For those who don't know, Thomas the Tank is a huge hit, even at the early age of 18 months! We were worried about the weather that day, since most of the event is outside and it was suppose to rain quite a bit...but even through the raindrops we all had a blast. We got there early so Eli could play a bit. As we were exiting the car, we realized my umbrella was no longer there, thank you pregnancy brain!! We were out in the middle of the valley, had no idea where the closest store was, so we set on a quick adventure. Luckily we found a CVS only about 10 minutes away, and we were back in no time! (Our little mishap did cut into Eli's play time a bit, but he didn't seem to notice!) First, there was a large area with these bounce balls that Eli loved!! He was even sharing them when other kids came by!
While waiting for the train, the weather was still cooperating. It was about 70 degrees and sunny. As it's time to board, a massive downpour occurs. Thank goodness we were in the front of the line! Even soggy, Eli LOVED the train ride!!
He was fascinated and looked out the window the whole time! We were right up front so he got to see the steam Thomas made too!!
As we were leaving...he looked like he was wrapped in saran wrap. As you can tell, he was amused!
We of course had to go through the massive tent of Thomas memorabilia, and we didn't do too bad. Just a place mat, a tee shirt, and a whistle for one of his friends and we were off! This will be an even we will be doing yearly. Eli had such a blast and will get a lot more out of it next year! We ended the evening by stopped at Friday's to eat. Just one last picture of the little man, and just what is my son doing? Flirting with the waitress of course!! Boy am I in trouble x2!!
